Iruppu Falls, Beautiful Falls in the Green Nature
Iruppu Falls lies on the Brahmagiri side of Coorg. Irpu falls is situated About 45 kms from Virajpet under the Jurisdiction of Kurchi Village. Lakshmana shooting an arrow to quench the thirst of the army created today�s iruppu falls. Rama is said to have dedicated a Shiva Kshethra known as Rajeshwara Temple on the banks of river Lakshmana Tirtha. The Lakshmana Tirtha River eventually flows into the Kaveri River. The falls is a feast to the eyes. This place can be reached from Kutta – Srimangala Road. Here is the Rameswara Temple of legend and antiquary. It is Believed that Lord Sri Rama Installed the Rameswara Linga. The river Takes birth in Brahmagiri hills.
Irpu falls Formed by Lakshmana thirtha jumps down the ravine in two stages from a height of 170 feet. This falls can be reached through steep climbing path of about one km from the temple. Best season to visit this place is between October � November.
